2018 World Championships

What a great trip it was to Ashgabat! A World Championships is an awesome experience and this time it was made more special by the amazing city of Ashgabat and a great Australian team. I also really enjoyed catching up with coaches and lifters from all over the world.

I was also really happy with Brandon who nearly went 6/6 and a PB Clean and Jerk and Total with his last lift overturned by the Jury

115,120,125   155,160,165x

Jett Youth Olympics Results

Jett lifted 5/6 80,84,88 106,112 121x for 11 place at Youth Olympics - it was a great effort  and he did himself and Australia proud.

he said about the event

"I feel so great at the moment
Couldn’t be down about anything
An amazing experience to cherish"

For me its great to see the amazing life experience he got from the event - it makes it very special.

Jett Gaffney selected for Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires

Congratulations to Jett Gaffney in being Australia’s only male weightlifter selected for the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires !!
He had a nail biting battle with the other contenders to claim the top spot but held his nerve and in the process put 35kg on his total this year and broke multiple Australian records.
The lift that got him here IMO was an epic 91 national record snatch for a 4kg Pb after missing 86 on his second attempt

2018 Commonwealth Games

Tia-Clair Toomey

Wow what an absolute machine !!! - to pull out a 3kg Pb CJ she missed in training to get gold - 2kg Pb snatch and 6kg on total -as well as national and state records. First Australian women’s Games gold medallist in lifting for 12 years. Awesome work by Shane in their buildup.

You plan and hope and dream of a such a result in the months leading up to the event and it’s so so special when it all comes together.

Damon Kelly

It was an emotional night for me seeing Damo finish off his lifts with class in front of an amazing home crowd

We have grown up in lifting and as people together over the last 20 plus years - and it’s been an awesome ride
